Exploring the Future of Work at ARCHIDEX 2026
In July 2026, Kohei travelled to Kuala Lumpur to speak at ARCHIDEX, one of Southeast Asia’s leading architecture and design events. Participating in the Asia Workplace Exchange (AWX) and World of Works (WOW) sessions, he shared fresh perspectives on the evolution of spatial design and the future of work.
His presentations addressed three key topics reflecting today’s changing technological and social landscape: Social Connection, which re-examines the true value of in-person interactions rather than treating the workplace merely as a site for task execution; Spatial Experience, which shifts the focus from raw efficiency toward designing environments that evoke emotion and spark curiosity; and Human Purpose, which explores how rapid AI adoption demands a shift toward the uniquely human capacity for framing meaningful questions.
The sessions brought together speakers and participants from a wide range of countries and professional backgrounds, offering rich opportunities to exchange perspectives on shared global challenges. Crucially, ARCHIDEX demonstrated how ASEAN perspectives are actively shaping the broader international design community—bridging regional insights with global conversations on the future of work.
